Pastor Mark Poorman

A 1983 graduate of Maranatha Baptist Bible College, Pastor Poorman became senior pastor of Woodcrest Baptist Church in July of 2002.

He served on the pastoral staff for 17 years as the Associate Pastor and was responsible for our outreach program, bus ministry, and myriad of other things. It was a great privilege to serve along his father, Clarke Poorman, who pastored Woodcrest for 32 years!

As pastor, it is his desire is to bring the message of salvation to those who are lost and in need of a Savior; and for those who are saved, to encourage them in greater service to the Lord.  While at various times throughout the year there is a need for a particular subject or topic that needs to be addressed, Pastor Poorman has a desire to preach expository messages through books of the Bible.

God's Word has the answers to the questions of life.  The preaching and teaching ministry of Woodcrest is not only to declare what God has revealed in His Word, but also to make application to our daily lives.  The Word of God must be read and believed with the goal of transforming our lives to the image of Christ for the glory of God.

Pastor Poorman married his wife Connie in 1981 and are they have been blessed with four children; Mark, Troy, LeAnna, and Katie, and seven grand-children!
